On May 28. 2010, OneDollarForMusic organized a music clinic at STIKOM, University for IT development in Denpasar, Bali.
‘Music for Your Soul’ was the title of this event that has been initiated by the student coucil of the university. OneDollarForMusic’s coaching team provided clinics about guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals for 170 young participants.
The four coaches, Vendi (vocals), Wira (bass), Nusan (drums) and Hideki (guitar) explained both basic and progressive skills to the audience. They also invited the participants to ask questions and showed how personal humbleness can serve vigourousness in performances and gives space to musical transmission and extradimensons to the interaction with the audience.
In the second part of the full-day program, STIKOM students themselves went on stage to show their musical creations.
In the end all participants filled in a questionnaire about musical development in Indonesia, the need for cultural participation and musical knowledge among the youth as well as about the quality of the clinic and performances. With this information, OneDollarForMusic aims to measure the effects of its activities.
